The Ride Files - Stuck in one gear

This is a new series where we will share and your cycling stories.

Over the years there are more than one crazy, exhausting, breathtaking cycling stories... Here is mine.

It was a Saturday or Sunday Velo Ride. Nothing special like any other. The weather was great all the cyclists were ready for a century ride. We had two shorter climbs and one longer climb ahead of us and I had my fathers Dogma F to ride with the new Super Record Wireless groupset. Yes in my opinion the best group set out right now.

Anyways I got the bike a couple of weeks ago and rode it a couple of times. The bike fits me good and there were no issues with the bike...well until this ride. We started the ride and after 5-10km my shifters died. I didn't know what is going on but they just didn't work. And after 10 km I had to decide do I go on with others or just go back?

I had my friend who I invited to the ride with us so I decided to continue. Firstly I thought I will ride just to the ascend to the first climb then the climb started and I continued. we climbed and I felt really good. In the front we were around 8 cyclist and my cadence was around 30, yes it was that hard. But I didn't gave up I pushed and pushed some more and I managed to come on the top of the first two climbs with the first group.

At the second top I decided not to climb the third hill since it was really steep and after talking with others in the next couple of days I made the right choice.

Before the last climb we just continued to Ljubljana, still around 45km but pretty much straight. Just to let you guys know, I was able to ride from 38 to 44km/h all the way to Ljubljana that was my gear for the climbs as well.

From that point on I never forgot to charge my battery ever again :D

This was one of my stories if any of you guys have your funny, educational etc. cycling story share it with us and we will share it next week.

Enjoy your bikes and until next time, #letsride
