🎙️ Interview with Evan — Founder of TiMaster / SixWeel

Q: Your background in cycling and engineering — you’re an engineer yourself, right?

A: No, I’m not. I’ve been riding bikes since kindergarten and mountain biking since I was a kid. I can install and adjust mechanical gear systems like the M965/975. In high school, I won awards in national physics competitions and developed a strong interest in mechanics. At university in the US and Canada, I got into motorsports and amateur racing — designing aero parts, maintaining cars, repairing Aston Martin gearboxes, and welding exhausts.

Q: How many people are involved in TiMaster and SixWeel?

A: Our core team is split into a technical team, a manufacturing centre, and a retail store. The retail store in Hangzhou provides product displays and custom work, while our office in Shenzhen handles development. The manufacturing centre operates CNC and axial machining — it’s not open to the public.

Q: What’s the relationship between the two brands?

A: TiMaster develops high-end bicycle accessories and also works across other industries. SixWeel started in 2021 focusing on traditional road cassettes. TiMaster acquired it in 2024, giving access to higher-hardness, high-strength material processing. Since then, we’ve optimized efficiency, noise, durability, and weight through better material science.

Q: Any future plans you can share?

A: No fixed roadmap yet, but WorldTour feedback shows our quality and performance are strong. We’ll continue to refine materials, treatments, and manufacturing precision — and bring our products to riders globally.

Q: Upcoming products you’re excited about?

A: We’re developing brake calipers, hubs, and full titanium cassettes. Production will remain small because titanium machining is still experimental, but we’re learning fast.

Q: You’re also looking into aluminium?

A: Yes — aluminum behaves differently from titanium, so we use conservative design limits to avoid fatigue fractures. Eventually, we may offer more affordable products using this tech.

Q: You’re into Porsches?

A: I’m a loyal Porsche fan — stable quality, balance, and endurance. I want my products to perform like a 911 GT3 — stable and precise under high intensity.

Q: Final word?

A: From materials to heat treatment, from design to manufacturing precision — our goal is to make your bike look better and help you reach the podium.
