Platelets are suspended within that base and clump together to seal larger punctures, protecting the rider on any type of bike from a variety of puncture sizes. Since the composition doesn't contain ammonia, it can be used in conjunction with tire inserts like the VittoriaAir-Liner without endangering the tire.
